Don't you just hate it when you finally realise your birds are not breeding because of mice.

Man I feel like an idiot.

Unfortunatly not all the aviaries are decked out with the wall mounted seed trays so the buggers are helping them selves to a free feed instead of taking the baits, I have basically given them a step ladder up the wrought iron pot plant stands I have been using for seed and to top it of, I have had my brush spaced out to far so that the buggers have been able to run along beams and up into nests .
Its that horrible feeling that I didnt get weeks ago as to why so many abandoned nests .

OH well a busy weekend ahead..... Pete

Yeah mate , should have realised all the goulds are doing fine as all the nests are mounted on the tin walls and no where for mice to climb, some serious rethinks are in order.
I bought a few weeks back a mouse trap that supposedly lets mice in and not out, I can see all the baits have gone in it replaced with lots of mice raisins, the buggers must work in tandum as its got me buggered... the war has begun....pete

Yes I hated it when earlier in the week the other half found mouse poop on the shelf adjoining a nest box with babies in it .
Here am I Coopexing and watching for ants getting to the nests and the bloody mice have moved back in .

Beleive it or not the lawn mower cut a small hole in the mesh skirt and the bloody mice were in like flynn.

Dont kick yourself to hard ... with work , family and every other distraction in life we overlook simple things at times . Hope you get rid of them quickly and the birds settle back down and make some babies .

Think the mice are just getting going here as well. Had a dead zebra on the floor today whose head looked violently eaten at which another zebra couldnt Possibly have done. Unless it's cannibal and hunts at night. :?

I feel sorry for all the country members as the forecasts for mice this season don't look good.

I was reading the local paper yesterday and it said that the upcoming mouse plague would smash any record of mouse plagues we've had before, I have a feeling that would be the same for locust plague as well. What's bad about the mouse plague as well is that ferrel animals can thrive on this stuff like foxes and wild dogs which breed right up because of the abundance of food which can be a disasterous problem for farmers which sheep are currently lambing.

For a while, dad and I were sitting in the lounge room watching mice run back and fourth across the lounge! I also had to clean out my ENTIRE bedroom because it was coverd in mouse poo! As well as cleaning out the linen cuboard that had a total of two dea mice!

But the plauge has kind of broken at our house.

Just a question about having the seed on the floor.....what about the quails?
