My birds (and I ;) ) LOVE dried paw paw. I saw a small container of sliced paw paw at the pet store for $33 and a slice was $1.50. Very expensive. But at the Nutchack (a sweet and nut store) sells smaller diced dried paw paw for around $10 a kilo. Would it be safe to feed this paw paw to my birds? Or would they have any sugar ect in them?
Thanks

It is most probably safe, but may contain a preservative like sulphur dioxide which is best avoided. Organic dried fruit would be better but will be more expensive.
Just a bit of trivia ...Its believed that hand reared chicks recovering from a crop problem will benefit from mashed paw paw .
Cant recall why , maybe the enzyme ???
