Collared Dove (Streptopelia decaocto)

i'm looking for some young collared doves (don't worry, they're not going in with the finches!). does anyone know of any leads?

If you are looking for the true species "Collared Dove" then there are none in Australia. The only ones that are any thing like them are a domesticated form, possibly a hybrid, called the Barbary dove, maybe this is what you mean?

yes, the barbary. i thought they were also commonly known as collared. thanks for the re-name.

and i remember we used to call them ringnecks too...another misnomer...

You shouldn't have any trouble getting some as they are very common and are quite cheap.It's a pity that you live so far away as I could give you some as I use them as foster parents for rarer species.
