QFS NOVEMBER GRASS COLLECTION TRIP, SUNDAY 6 NOVEMBER

This is a QFS activity open to QFS members and guests to demonstrate the collection of November Grass (nesting grass). Last year participants each collected from 3 – 10 bags of grass. This trip will be on Sunday 6 November in the sugar cane area south of Brisbane (Woongoolba). Assemble at the car park adjacent to Gem Hotel, Jacobs Well Road at 9.30am Sun 6 Nov. To get to Jacobs Well Road, travel the M1 south of Brisbane and take exit 38(Yatala North) to Jacobs Well Road. Then proceed for 3km to the Gem Hotel. We will leave in convoy from the Gem at 9.45am precisely to a grass area for a briefing about the grass and how to collect it. After that individuals or groups can forage for the grass themselves.
What to bring: hat and good shoes or gum boots, sun screen, water/drinks, container bags for grass, rake or shears/cutters for cutting the grass, rain coat.
For those interested lunch will be at the Yatala Pie Shop after midday. :cloppy:

Only a fincho would organise a club outing like this, great idea. The locals must be laughing at the sight of a group of strangers arriving to pick bags of GRASS. Would love to see photos of this?
I wonder if the local police will get any phone calls about a convoy of cars traveling to some quiet spot in the country side to distribute bags of grass.
I hope its a sunny and dry for you all on collection day.

Do you need permission from the land owners or the local councils to collect or are you out of there before anyone realises what you are doing?
