Going away for a week have resources to cover food/seed for a week but unsure how to look after water requirements. currently change every day, dont have anyone close by to help. any suggestions on self filling water systems. Have tried hanging water units but finches fill with sedd etc and water is rancid after 2/3 days. Got 3 weeks to find a solution

yep timer on a automatic watering thingy or lots of people doing pet feeding services , I think roughly $25 per visit so maybe get them in every couple of days or both auto system and someone to pop in even every 3 days to have a quick look around to see if everything is working out .
Maybe do some tests of water with an additive to see how long it stays clean although a week is pushing it .
Leave the hose running on low for a week $$$$ ...hope something pans put for you in the next 3 weeks.

Regardless of what system you supply I think you should also include the upturned bottle(small to 2 Lt) with the salt shaker head screwed to it.
Fill it with water up end it vertically and a small drop will form at the tip of the screw top. Fix it very close to a perch and the birds will drink from it.
It doesn't foul and is a great emergency backup in particular when it is hot.

Lentra are excellent with range of goods and price.
I have a gravity feed system from a water tank using pot plant drippers which drip into drinking dishes which overflow into larger pot plant saucers which have drains hose fitted which carry excess water outside the aviary.
I also made a self waterer back up. I used a 15 litre spring water bottle and sit it in a pot plant saucer about 14inches square. I drilled 6 x 3/8 holes in the bottle below the water line in the saucer. I found I had to cover most of the water surface and leave a small gap for drinking as the zebs filled it with debris like nesting material.
