Was all very exciting seeing the little fawn baby hopping about the cage so I thought id better change the water bowl to something smaller and do a bit of a cleanup ..
Reached in to grab what looked liked dried out spinach only to find a very emaciated little bubba still breathing .
So a small feed of formula and into the brooder it went , dont know if this one will have a happy ending but Ill give it a go .
first baby finch this year

It picked up heaps by late afternoon so we popped it back in the nest . It got itself well into the nest and the parents are in and out so hopefully they are feeding it .
Anyhoo it had formula and was strong enough so best place is with the family me thinks . Will check in the morning so keep those fingers crossed .

Yep AMCA the Marked whites or Chestnut flanked lol it was never decided what they were anyhoo the baby stayed in the nest and from what I can see is looking good and being parent fed .
Really did NOT enjoy hand feeding such a tiny bird but would have done so if needed ...
