Just got home from Taronga Zoo. Has anyone seen the flight show? It is incredible! I mean we all know how smart birds are with talking and such but to fly in their sequences like that? just amazing. Then walking down the steps to give a galah a coin to put in a donation box I got distracted by one of the white pigeons and fell down the stairs

I was a little disappointed with the range of finches though. They have alot of room in their many aviaries where they could have a few pairs of some of the rarer finches. I only saw Java sparrows, red brows, diamond firetails and chestnut breasted mannikins.

Yes the free flight show is awesome . Taronga has changed so much since I was a kid . Those small iron pens seem medieval now compared to the new glass enclosures .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

wow, it's been years since I've been up there... I saw the flight show a few years ago (5 years, actually) and my god it was amazing :D :D
they used to have a pretty good selection of softbills though from memory, I remember seeing red backed wrens and various australian wrens and chats and things.
