Hi
Has anyone seen any research on how long it is safe to store and feed Egg & Biscuit?
For example, if i was to mix a hard boiled egg with Bird's R Us premium Egg & Biscuit, and store it in the Fridge, how long is it safe to keep in the fridge and feed out?
For years i use to serve fresh in the morning and the remainder was kept in the fridge until the following day, at which point it was served and i had no issues. But given that i only have 1 pr of birds at my place, the consumption is far reduced, meaning a higher level of work required. The work dos not bother me, but i guess us as birdkeepers, we need to be smarter in how we do things so that it allows us more time to enjoy and when required easier for other non bird minded assistants to fullfil our tasks.
Look forward to your comments.
Cheers
Luke

My opinion 3-4 days in the fridge.I put remainders in a plastic container and place a paper towel on top to soak up any condensation or moisture that might occur.Use your nose as back up.You can always freeze which will last lot longer.

I have a tupperware container with the crushed milk arrowroot and the boiled eggs are in another container in the fridge , each day I peel the eggs needed and just mush what I need with the biscuit .
Theres never any left by lunchtime to worry about it spoiling .
The commercial soft food I make up daily also . Eggs I would not store for more than 3 days after boiling them .Milk arrowroot will last for a fair while in its dry state.

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.
