I have a friend who caught a pied sparrow hen and a normal male from around his horse stables. Through them in his very large free flight, 30 x 25 x 15m, within a couple of weeks they nested. You would not belief it the chicks came out pied as well. What are the chances of catching a pied and a split out of the flock of 50+ wild sparrows. I dont have any photo but they look like Danny's.

We have a family of sparrows that visit the garden with white feathers, not as much white as Danny's though. Ive nicknamed them the "Bakery Bunch" after the prepared cake mixes "White Wings"

Update on this White bird, it has a partner and are nesting in one of the gum trees down the back and has a couple of young. So will have to wait and see if it has thrown its own colour.

Hen pied sparrow with a cuban. Sorry about this photo as it was the best I could get in such a large aviary.

This is a better photo of hen pied sparrow and Madagascan weavers.
