My new zebra finch chicks have no tails! Does anyone know why? The nest the parents used is really small, and only three finches can fit in there, which I think might be the prob.
Hahah, they look like funny little things with no tails, but the poor guys are having a hard time balancing!

Sounds like their tails have been pecked by the parents.

Yeah, but I wonder why only one zebra finch has a full tail? Would they grow back?TheFinchMan101 wrote:Sounds like their tails have been pecked by the parents.

Of course they will, I had a zebra who just fledged and was on the floor allthe time and the quails would peck its tail clean. It's completely grown back now and she is doing fine.
