I bought 4 star finches earlyer this year. so they should be around 6 monthes by now i should think.

I have them split up into pairs. Oposite sex pairs. But the cock birds do not seem interested in the hens at all yet and seem to prefer each other. DEFF cock birds as they are i full colour now!

Is it just a waiting game with these? The hecks grass finches i got at the same time *same age group* are beginning to nest?

Is it me?

Patience........it may be a little early. They will go at 6 months but better for them to reach 10-12months IMO......The Longtails will build a roosting nest, so they're not directly comparable with Stars....Longtails/Black Throats/Masks are masters in the art of bluff :wtf:

I also note your'e on the opposite side to us.......breeding season here would probably put you in Autumn?.........see point 1 above......Patience
