Hey all i am back for round 2 lol
as most of you know i lost quite a few birds dueing winters or just dropping dead
which is sad i know i got so sick of birds dropping without signs so i gave last 4 to bro and there doing fine
wonder what i did wrong.
his how i gave up thats how i would put it lol
one weekend i come home and my grass parrots were dead and it a nerve so i gave rest to bro i loved them grass parrots so much
i was shattered i had a clutch from them too.
heres another sad part i come home today from weekend and my bro went to bring chickens in lol and sooky our cockatiel flew out the back door
as soon as my bro told me i bolted out the door and ran/walked around the block twice. Its sad i know.
We went to a lady who was selling budgies and cockateils and i got 3 baby budgies the lady we got sooky from and she showed us how to clip a birds wings she cliped my budgies wings i am gonna tame them lol well try too lol
so this round i aint gonna give up its like sooky revived my intrest for birds.
I am back for round 2 lol

What concerns me is will these little birds will end up going down hill and dieing like your "round 1"?
You didnt take advice given and the birds suffered . I really hope these little birds do well Shanny but you are going to have to put in a lot more effort than last time and you must listen to what experienced people say when you ask a question .
I cant speak for DBirds but I do understand his post ...we worried so much about your last birds and do not really want or need the worry again .
I hope you have learnt from last time and I hope you can do well with these Budgies . Remember that they are very smart little birds and if you tame them its for life not until you get sick of them . Good luck .

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Shanny, round one didnt go too well , all forum members join for the love of birds and to share advice, experience, photos and to learn. I guess what upset me was the posts describing the deaths occuring at your house. Many people offered advice and some suggested having a break or spending time with an experienced keeper to learn more before having another go. I wish you all the best with your new birds but i would like you to understand that your previous posts relating to the amount of birds that died in your care was quite upsetting to me and several other members. I would be very grateful if round 2 included pics of your new birds doing well, looking healthy and fitting in well with your family.
There are many real hazards having a pet parrot in the house and if you would like some tips i will offer up a few to start. Here is a few to watch out for, ceiling fans, toilet seats left up, boiling water, frying pans ( watch out having the bird around while cooking), other pets (dogs, cats) and always watch the bird while its out, its very easy to loose one under the fridge, behind the sofa. in between cupboards ect.
This Long Bill is around 25 years old and we`ve had her since she was two, you shoudnt have too many problems keeping a pet budgie going for 10 to 15 years.
Good luck and sorry for sounding a bit negative, please show us some positive results

Shanny, if you put a container of your cockatiels favourite food outside she/he MAY come back. I hope so.
