Feral Zebras

not sure if this has been said before but here in Melton on the grasslands of a largely unsold industrial estate we have a population of at least 50 feral Zebra Finches. They are either let go by someone or aviary escapades because they have a mix of common mutations, fawn white and pied as numerous as the grey type.

It would be interesting to see if it reverts back to normal wild-type after a few years or if there is continual leakage from domestic stock. Too many "kind" people out there giving things a chance I suppose. I wonder if they think the same of dumping unwanted kittens in the bush where 95% die and the remaining 5% dine on wrens, honey eaters and in 75000 years will evolve into something that will take down kangaroos, cattle and people.
