Any idea what this is? I'm assuming it's a male.
I was recently given some zebra finches, and this particular bird had been picked on and had bald patches on his face. When the new feathers came through, I was surprised to see peach coloured cheek patches. He has faint throat stripes, which you can see in the pics. This isn't his nest- he took refuge in it when I brought out the camera!
Mutation ID please!

I'm very surprised by that. I did initially think she was a female, but thought it must be a male once I saw the coloured cheek patches. Assumed it was some kind of dilute male.
Hmm, I'm not sure what to do with her now!!

Just had a look through some of your pics AMCA, and she does look very much like your red-breasted fawn (apart from being grey, of course!). Is she of any use to you? I'm not interested in breeding red breasts.

It would be worth puting her to a Grey and get some Splits i guess. You dont hear of them around at the moment.

I've just found her sitting on two eggs, so I assume she's paired up with one of the 'normal' boys (I'm not sure if they're splits- one problem with being given a bunch of random birds). Oh well, I guess I'll see what hatches (if anything).
