well it turns out a had some nesting ruddies and had no idea.

this morning i came out and noticed there was this teeny little fledgling on the aviary floor i had no idea existed. my ruddies are a good 3 years old now so i had assumed they were probably post-reproductive.

i placed the heater in the cage on the floor near the ruddies nest, just in case, however the fledgling is sitting nearby the nest, so i'm hoping he gets through. my last ruddy fledglings died unexpectedly after a few days and last year because of the odd weather i had no breeding of any birds whatsoever.

wish me luck. it'll be a first.
