I have only ever bred Gouldians in planted aviaries with other species including Stars, Emblema's, Hecks, Scarlet's and Dove's. If I set up an aviary with only Gouldians, in your experience should I expect better results ? Last season Heck's pairs did modify every box until between them they found the right one. Star's & Painted's as far as I could observe not an issue, and I now feel although placid - Scarlet's are to different and a little too inquisitive.
Thanks

I wouldn't keep scarlets in with any finch. Even if they don't get aggro (and most do sooner or later) they are chewers and will eventually destroy every nest in the place. Hecks will dominate (as you have already found). I'd be building new flights or reducing the holdings.

With that many occupants how big is the aviary? Hecks are very intrusive...Scarlets as Natamambo says are chewers and can be aggressive in smaller avairies...hmmm Doves depends what type some are very flighty and can ruin your chances of continous good breeding...Stars and Emblemas are no problem...I have bred Gouldians as separate head colours (too hard to keep track of who young was whos)and if I ever do it again it will be one pair per aviary with say a pair of stars or emblemas in each aviary as well....

Aviaries are 4x3mt , 3x3mt and 3x1.5mt. I only have yellow head normals, doves are normal Diamond. Planted with Bamboo, various grasses, English box, and bottlebrushes.Scarlets are now seperated into 2x1mt with a pair of doves.
