As much as losing any bird is a heartache losing big dollar birds could mean the end of your hobby ..of course this is only my opoinion and based on my bird budget.

Not callous at all. Many others have said similiar! I've decided to go with split to blue pairs. Ill set the aviary up to the best possible requirements for the birds and give it a go.
