When I buy birds from anywhere I'm even slightly unsure about, I worm them and treat for Coccidia before allowing them in the main aviary. I am undecided about how important it is to treat with Ronidazole (e.g. Ronivet-S) during quarantine as well. Thoughts? Experiences?

The good thing about protozoal parasites is that they are fairly easily detected under a microscope - quickly as they tend to dry out pretty soon under the lights heat!!

If you are serious and they test positive for them I'd have a chat to someone at the Australian Pigeon Company ( no affiliation!!!) and grab some Turbosol..............if it turns out to be cochlosoma then your finches will thank u in the long run..................a few of us wish we'd known of this product when we had Dybowski's last!!

Agreed .Its best to know what your treating or trying to prevent when using multiple meds or meds in general .
They only have tiny little organs and it doesnt take much overdo it .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.
