Hi I breed mine in normal finch boxes, But I put in a fair amount of nesting material in the boxes and a selection of material on the ground. I put 2boxes per pair because not all will breed. I have 1 pair that actually builds their own nest of coconut fibre feathers and a smal lamount of fine grasses hope this helps

I have used the budgie style nest boxes for my gouldians with good results for 5 years, im now going to try a couple of L shaped boxes to see if their is a preference, but i will always give them a few different options for nesting sights.
Swamp grass is my choice of nesting grass which is really soft, but i also have some other varieties of dry grass i offer for them to pick and choose.

I use the budgie style nest box and I picked up some Mike Fidler style boxes earlier in the year so Im putting those in too. I line the bottom of the nest box with coconut fibre and then swamp grass. I leave some swamp grass in the aviary for the birds to finish off to to their satisfaction. Best sound is a gouldian tapping around in the box.
I hang the boxes from wire frames in various parts of the aviary.
