Thought it a bit funny this year that most of the parrots from the first clutch of the year were boys and now the second clutches are out and about they are mostly girls ...
Good that it evens things out . Just an observation .

48 ( my other half ) and still waiting for maturity ..oh you mean birds . UMMM not that I have noticed .

How interesting. I recently read a paper that claims that laying date and sequence affects sex ratio in rosellas, and I believe the same occurs in eclectus parrots and in some finches, though this isn't universal. Perhaps it confers some sort of size advantage?

My Gouldians were 50/50 over the breeding season. But the last clutch was 100% female. Don;t know if there is any significance in that.
