Gale force winds, heavy rain & 12oC here. That is summer here -pfttt :urgh:
Have wrapped up my bird cage in a clear tarp.
In awe of the tiny wild little wrens here that still emerge after all this.

cold, wet, foggy. the only difference at the mo between winter and summer is that the days are longer!

my birds have stopped breeding, but are all hanging in there. what amazes me is that when we do have the odd break in the weather and there's bright sun, the first thing all of them do is rush down and have a bath in the water bowl! :crazy:

Last year in melb,around the dandenong ranges,weather was terrible up and down like a drovers dog,knew it wasnt going to be a good year to bred ,but the birds tried and i did my bit,at the end of it all thats nature,you just have to grin and bear it and do what you can for the birds,hope the weather brightens up for you ,cheers garyh.

While over on the west coast we have been having Bali type heat and humidity for weeks. And today we have the fringe winds of a tropical cyclone. But the birds seem to be coping just fine. Just drinking rather more and flying less.
