your best bet in finding a forum which discusses lovebirds would be either featherz or aussiebirds, the posts there are more about parrots. finches are hardly mentioned.
as far as I know there is no forum dedicated just to lovebirds

I know it's not a Finch related post, so forgive me please
but it sort of demonstrates what you guy's have been saying about lovebird's and I thought it apt
I wrote this a few years ago and fished it out of the archives.
A few years ago now I was catching up some Masked Lovebird's
for sexing, prior to the breeding season, to set up a few pair's in
a new Aviary.
It's long been a habit of mine to net 2 or 3 birds at a time, if I
can, saves time and stress on the birds, on this sweep I caught 2 birds
and was just about to transfer them to a carry box, when the bird in
my right hand started to try to chew the end of my thumb off.
I was in a bit of a catch 22 situation as I had a bird in each hand
and the net between my knees, not wanting to let either bird go, I was
trying to open the carry box door with the toe of my boot. The little
bugger in my right hand was really starting to enjoy her work by now,
and was changing the angle of her beak slightly to inflict maximum
pain.
Being male, and stubborn, I still didn't want to let them both go
but I couldn't get the box door open with my toe, so finally admitting
defeat, I let the bird in my left hand go and dropped the net between
my knees to the floor, still hopeful of getting the monster in my right
hand in the box.
She, of course, was just as stubborn, and didn't want anything
to do with the carry cage, so she renewed her attack with even more
vigor, it was really starting to hurt now so I decided enough is enough
and opened my hand to release her. The little devil still didn't want to
give up the fight and bit even harder.
I flapped my hand gently but the little bugger held on like a
demented mud crab, I had to pry her beak apart to get her off,
she flew to the nearest perch, and I swear this is true, looked straight
at me with a smirk on her face.
It is only by the application of a monumental amount of self-
restraint that something really nasty didn't happen to this Feathered
little Demon!!
It's just as well I have no near neighbors as the swearing was
getting bluer and bluer while this was happening. As my close
friends will attest, I am not renown for having much Patience and
I am as surprised as they are, that I still have this Bird, apart from her
Temper, she really is a very good breeder,
My reward for this act of Leniency will probably, in a few gene-
orations, will be a whole Aviary full of these little monsters. When I
have to handle this Hen now, and I try to avoid it if at all possible,
I use a pair of heavy-duty leather welding gloves.
Hope this gives you a laugh....Tony

Gawjus little birds BUT they got a bite on them ...my Quarrions cant even bite that hard . lol . Old friend of mine bred them and had one inside as a pet , anyway long story short kid sits on bird accidently , bird looks dead so I pick it up to check it , it isnt dead but turns on the fleshy part of my hand between thumb and pointy finger and bites for all its worth ....then goes into lock jaw mode and thats when I think I passed out from pain lol .....anyway they are nice to look at ....
