Hi,
I went to Ace Colony's a fortnight or so ago, he is still deciding whether he will bring it in...Looking at approx. $35kg plus (that was the price last year & again he was not really sure about any sort of details (that's when I spoke to him)).
He told me to call back in a fortnight or so (so about now) and he may have a few more details....
Cheers

HI Ripley,
I have frozen green seed for $10/kg....drive down to Melbourne and you will still be better off....the seed is from Ray/Wendy Lowe
Once frozen the seed will remain good outside the freezer for at least 10 hours....PM me if you want any as I have about 30 containers (2kg each) left.
Cheers, Paul

You could send it to Sydney "next flight" with AAE in the styrene esky and still be in front.gouldianpaul wrote:HI Ripley,

I agree Natambo....I am making enquiries to send the seed to Broken Hill (via Adelaide) and believe the seed will be fine (5-6 hours out of the freezer)....so to Sydney will be even easier if anyone is interested....cheers, Paul

Hi All,
I have made arrangements to send seed from Melbourne to Broken Hill with a transit time of 6 hours.
The cost to Sydney would be $280 for 18 kg's....this includes $180 for the seed and $100 for the freight....so that equates to $15/kg...much cheaper than your Sydney supplier.
As this price is airport to airport you will need to pick it up from the Sydney airport.....if anyone from Sydney is interested please let me know...please remember a minimum of 1 eskie is required....which is 18 kg's.
Cheers,
Paul

The boxes the seed comes in are not suitable for air transport, as they are not air approved. Air approved boxes have a little fish symol on the & a weight recomendation. I'd hate to see you turn up at the airport only to be turned away because the boxes weren't air approved. Your local aquarium store should be able to help you out, most of the will give them away so they don't have to dispose of them.
Cheers Pete
P.S. If you were exporting the seed, the box they come in would be fine, it is only domestic flights that need to have the approved boxes.

Thanks for the advice Pete,
I've just spoken to AAe and they informed me that so long as the bottom of the box doesn't give way when you pick up the box they will be fine.
So the boxes Ray & Wendy Lowe have sent them in will be fine....cheers, Paul
