Not a chance! If those birds will eat onion weed, then garlic won't deter them!

Garlic is just another neutraceutical product. As long as you don't overuse it you should be ok. Is it of any benefit, especially in the form we give it? Nobody knows for sure.
But I wouldn't rely on it as my sole wormer, for instance.
I do know that one of the problems of oversupplementation is blood clotting disorders.

It is a novelty for the Cruise ship passengers that call to discover a town with a huge flock of Corellas chewing the hell out of the street and carpark trees.

Probably make the birds even healthier than they are now, if all that is true about garlic.

Way back many of the real old timers would put a clove of Garlic in the birds water bowls.
Also we would mix Plaster of Paris and pour it into an ice block mould. When it had set and dried we would then put one in each water bowl
because the opinion then was it leached Calcium into the water. The block took ages to disolve.

unfortunate finch breeder, they will die quicker form the lead poisoning thatn garlic being a deterant......as for the garlic in the water bowl, it would only work for a few seconds if that .before the good stuff in it breaks down....pete...
