the problem with that Gomer, is at work they grow along the lake and creek edges and I would end up in the drink, but I do have a karge tractor that might be of use.... pete

Haven't seen it around here for years either. Great nesting material. Interesting to here others say great for PFs, Bloods, etc. My turn - Strawberry Finches go berserk filling their nests with it. Like good clean fluffy duck or emu feathers this material really seems to stimulate the nesting interest in many finches. When dry will keep well for years in a clean hessian bag.

There is a lot of it growing around Stanthorpe QLD . I got some on the way back from finches 11 out of six pieces i got one to grow . finches love it, and going to try it with the weavers.

When I was a kid we had a large tussock of it growing in our yard at Maitland. My advice is to not grow it anywhere near where kids play or they'll get cut as I did plenty of times. Bugger of a plant but great heads to collect from someone else's property I suggest.

I went off to sell some birds this morning and on way home saw clumps of it growing wild, after all this info will have to head back with clippers.
