Hiya guys,
Just home from Canberra bird sale
I put the new birds i brought in a cage away from my main ones and I've just been getting the new ones sorted out and settled and I've noticed the new male to the pair of yellow gouldians has a crook foot .... will put his weight on it if need be but is resting with it tucked under him i had him out and bathed it in light salted water its not puss at all looks more scabby if anything .... and slightly deformed toes any idea what i can do to help fix this for the poor bugga i soaked it thinking it might have been poop ... but seems like scabs just at the tips of the toes .... any help will be great thanks , Kell

Make that both that pair that have crook feet the female no where to the degree as the female ....

Did you notice these things with them whilst they were at the sale?? The seller shouldn't have even had them for sale if they were like that.

Nah I didn't notice them or i'd have not bought them home ... now also one of the canaries I bought seems to be taking seizures .... Awesome day lol ....

Can you post a pic? sounds like a bad infestation of scaly leg mite. As for the canary could be stress Coccivet and spark should fix and keep in a quiet place.

Yeah i dont have any of Coccivet and spark as i'm just starting out .... you think put him in a Quite room by himself .... will if i put him in a transport box be alright ???

I'll try and get a photo of the gouldians feet ... Ive just Ivomec'ed the canaries .... And clipped their massively long nails .

Ok just did a mad dash to yass sale got some spark just as they were packing up but I reckon this one will die its in like a permanent bloody seizure man I tell you I think this is the last sale i'll attend!
