I found 2 of my 5 baby gouldians dead this morning. They have been out of the nest for about 5 days and I cant pinpoint why they died.
They are not feeding themselves at this stage from what I have seen. The dad feeds them sometimes but the mother seems more interested in the nest again and I have not seen her feeding them.
I dont thinks it rats but just in case I have surounded the aviary with traps.
All I can think it is from my limited knowledge is they have not been getting enough nutrition/hydration or something happened to cause the deaths last night.
I know many things may have caused it but what are the more things that cause the death of fledglings?
Any advive would be appreciated
Jimla

If the fledglings are undernourished what do I give them?
what are the parents being fed?
could have been night fright, or just that they didn't get much of a feed from the parents and they succumbed to the cold.
