But the Gel does not treat Air sack mites?????????????/
I use Moxdectin Plus, for treatment of ASM and most of the external parasites plus some of the internals including tapeworm, hairworm and roundworm. 5ml per litre. Baycox for coccidiosis, 3mls per lite in the same water. Mix them together, remove water supply the night or afternoon before. Leave the mixture in for 24 hours. DO NOT use when it is raining as the birds will take fresh water from the wire rather than the medication and do not feed fresh greens as this also supplements the moisture level and they don't have to drink. Do not worry if you have young in the nest, I have used it and had no problems. Repeat 2 weeks later. Then repeat every 3-4 months. If you think you have ASM, remove perches and give a good spray with Coopex. Mites live on the perches where the bills are wiped. Purchased my Moxidectin Plus from Australian Pigeon Company and the Baycox from Australian Wildlife Supplies. Both do mail order but you have to ring personally. Look them up on the net. Pretty quick service as well.
When I restarted after 30 years or so it all seemed so daunting, after all I knew nothing all those years ago and didn't have the benefit of advice like you have now. I just fed em, that was it, in those days. Now with all the advice available it is really so simple.
Hope this helps.
U might like to rethink the one day bit..............I know some espouse the "one drink does the trick" motto but if you do a bit of rudimentary testing you'll find that aint so...............or so we've found at any rate.
As Myzo says mix up your wormers and please, please, please..............use the recommended dose period.
These things (intestinal parasites) are evolutionary survivors.......just like sharks & crocs.....treat em as such!!
