Ok so my hecks laid 2 eggs *on the bottom of the cage* So i just tossed them in with my zebras who were just about to start sitting.

Anyway they suprisngly started growing. But now i am concerned weather my zebras will accept them when they hatch???

I know zebra finches will foster other australian grassfinches but will they raise them among their own chicks or just turf them out? I do have bengalese finches on standby btw

What do you guys think?
please dont stand in my aura

I have never deliberately fostered myself but I know that when I was in the Philippines that the breeders there typically used zebus four everything and everything in the Philippines is pretty limited but shaft-tails were on the list. The only proviso being is that they are more likely to toss if there are odd hatchlings amongst their brood so remove their own eggs as they lay. You may get away with it but zebs are easier to breed than shaft-tails so you need to prioritise your needs and lessen your grief.

Absolutely! Zebbies are commonly used for fostering in Europe. Almost as much as Bengalese so give it a go.

I am with Greg and would just put the Hecks eggs under them and remove the zebbies eggs. cheers, Case
