Heres the part about seed soaking ...

*I have looked into the concept of using panacur administer to the water and for it to be given over a period of time. The reason why it is administer over a period of 3-5 days in some cases is it appears to be less toxic but more effective especially for treating round worms. Hairworms may be more stubborn and will need to be treated for 7-10 days. The dose for water treatment is 125mg per litre of water and to stir regularly to prevent settling. It may also go in the seed 5ml /1-kilo. Treatment for 5 days and no other types of food to be feed. Dosing for finches 2ml/litre of water for 5 days, and be careful to administer correct dosage.

And heres the whole page ...

Hope it helps .

Jay I would do what Eorix said and wait a little bit longer unless your birds have worms and needing the medications. I did my last dose with moxi plus and had to wait till young were independent enough, using moxi plus can prohibit young calling for food which can lead to death so this is why some people wont use it while chicks are being feed. As for your wormer have never used it so I can't answer if it will. If there's a phone number on the packaging give them a call and ask it won't hurt.
Eorix was that you who mixed the soaked seed in it. I have read that people have used liquid vitamins in the soaked seed and found that little traces have soaked into the seed but not great amounts or good enough amounts compared to dusting powder over it. Will see if I can find the site with that info as it was interesting.

1) re using Moxidectin (Plus) with birds rearing chicks: technically it can weaken the chicks' begging responses but it seems that this rarely a problem in practice. It would be less of a problem with fledging aged chicks than with those less than a week old.

2) Jayburd, re Worm-enda. The active ingredient, levamisole, has a narrow safety margin so I would not use it when young are in the nest. I agree with EOrix and would wait until a few weeks after fledging unless you are currently suffering problems.

3) As for Panacur in seed. This was used quite a few years ago. It was mixed with some vegetable oil to allow the medication to stick to the outer husk of the seed. In general, most breeders found it worked well. However, I have a feeling that Taronga Zoo may have had mortalities in its blue faced parrot finches as a result, but I'd need to check my facts on that one. I will also confirm dose rates once I've checked my notes but it's been a while since I've used it this way.
If you do use this technique it is important to remove all spilt seed and alternative food sources during the treatment period.
Panacur being a suspension does not dissolve in water. If you supply it in shallow bowls the settling effect will be less.

4) E Orix's question re soaking seed in wormer-dosed water: I don't know of anyone that has assessed how effective this is but I would be very doubtful that you would get enough of the wormer being absorbed into the seed. It may just be a matter of increasing doses but research needs to be done ion this area.
However, you could mix the panacur with oil and the soaked seed as for dry seed, but you need to remove all dry seed so that the birds eat all the treated soaked seed.
