Sam looks like the 1st and last photos are Nyasa's and the others are fishers mutations such as yellow face and blue series birds.

Finding normal pure lovebirds is near impossible.

Seems to be a fair bit of skull duggery with the sale of these lovebirds .
Im only new to them and having need of a male asked a pet shop in Tamworth about a very pretty dilute "peachie" for sale .
I was told it would breed with my lutino peachface and give me lutinos and dilutes so off i went with my $50 bird ... asked a mate down to have a look to be told I had a Fischers love bird and not a peachface at all grrrrrr total daylight robbery and to lie to my face > shameful .

Hi Jack,

It was taken at the Orange Sale - wire cages are OK as long as they have a floor.
The full details of what is allowed is at http://orangebirdsale.com/code-of-practice

Hi Wagga,

Yep your right, photo's 1 and 5 seem to be Nyasa's and photo's 2,3 and 4 are definitely Fischers...

To many breeders seem to want to make a quick buck and cross the two species to swap mutations between the two.

Hi Jusdeb,

You would hope he did it out of ignorance but the likely reason is that he probably didn't have what you wanted so sold you what he had and was happy to pull the wool over your eyes and hope you didn't realise...

At least the offspring would be infertile so no damage would be done unlike the white eye ring species...

Cheers,

Tim

Either don't know or don't care.

Neither is acceptable if you are selling birds and advising people.

Unfortunately this is all too common.

I spend half my day correcting the myths and straight-out lies perpetrated by some sellers.
Bad dietary & husbandry advice.
Horrible wing clips- Grrrr!

Hi Jusdeb,

I'm sorry to hear that eh, no good... :(

The stress of the move must have knocked it around abit.

Hopefully the other little guy keeps going for you...
