In regards to Roundup, quote from that site"Infact some birds prefer to eat grasses treated with Roundup" At certain times of the year around Victoria farmers spray their paddocks with Roundup to kill certain pest weeds, one in particular is onion weed.White cockatoo's,galahs and even some large parrots relish the bulbs of onion grass after it has been killed of with roundup.Sometimes hundreds of them can be seen digging up the bulbs and eating them from the baron treated paddocks.
According to the farmers, the birds are attracted to the sweetness of the dead and dying bulbs and has no ill effect on them. Cheers Craig
ps,i'm not hijacking this post,it was one very interesting point that David pointed out and a few interesting posts to other topics regarding taking seeding grasses from council parks and gardens that they may have been poisoned with glyphosate,if you are worried wash it before feeding.

I've never thought of having roses in an aviary but it all makes perfect sense now. A very interesting talk and great that I could watch it online. Many thanks to David and Sam.
A world without birds is a world not worth living in :)
