Some of the cock birds can be a bit boisterous at times, but it is spring and feather loss to me is the first real sign. Molting is a very stressful time for all birds not just Cubans, it changes their behaviour in regards to eating and sleeping too.

Always the same this time of year, most of my parrot finches have heads like plucked chickens.

You can interfere with a molt if you want by buying ointments, but it is normal for birds to do this just before and then after breeding season. Only takes a while before you'll start to see pinfeathers on their heads again.

Cubans are nice birds; if I was so inclined I’d have a few of them, it’s a good sign of an early and fruitful crop. – Who said I didn’t give out any tips. ;)

feather loss on the head can be from many things , aggression from other birds or a poor diet..... never had bald parrot finches before ........p

I called in to this shop today on my way back home from the airport.
Nice little shop, with plenty of stock. They had a good range of accessories as well, and they were very friendly. Had quite a few different varities of finches, with a pair of Diamonds that looked nice...

So anyone living near them check them out..
Good to see new shops specialising in just birds, and doing it right...

I bet I could spend quite a few hours in a shop like that, and come out a few $$$$ lighter. :D Love the No Smoking sign.
