Went and had a look at the new bird shop in Caringbah The Bird's Nest. Not a very big shop a young girl owns it spoke to her father he use to own the Living Jungle bird shop at Ramsgate. He said they had over 400 people come through the shop last weekend. Had about 20 cordons bleus and about 10 other species of finches.Budgies, some really nice canaries, different parrots. A very clean shop which is the one thing I always look for when buying a bird. If you live in the Sutherland Shire go and have alook. I usually buy my seed etc from a wholesaler at Moorebank I find he has a great range and is the cheapest I have found. :)

Hi All, Pete is my name & I have just registered on this site. My girl Sue & I, visited the new shop at Willarong Rd, Caringbah last weekend. I was on the hunt for a female Gouldian to match up with my 5-year old male, having lost his mate a couple of years ago. She is a great little bird & is currently trying hard to make friends with 'Peeper'. I think that he has got the dirts with me now that I have introduced this female (Lady Peep) into his domain, as he has stopped speaking (whistling) to me? Anyhow, hopefully they will work it out soon enough! Definately worth visiting this small family shop, as you will be impressed! Regards. :)

Hi,

Read about the new bird shop in Caringbah, so I went to see for myself a few weekends ago. Plenty of Parrots and to my surprise plenty of quality finches too.

I was talking with Paul the guy who sold the Jungle to George years ago, and he made an offer on some of my finches. Now I will say one thing, I don’t like being in a position where I have to sell my birds, but seed and maintenance costs money which now in my later years I just don’t have.

We agreed on an offer which wasn’t the amount that I was looking for but, the quantity of birds he bought made up for that. 34 pairs in one hit.

I was very pleased with the arraignment and look forward to the next one.

I actually checked this place out last weekend it was pretty nice with a Good arrangement of finches.

Only downfall i reckon is the cages are overcrowded and housing multiple Cubans in the 1 cage = Birds stressed with lots of missing feathers.

I hope the shop survives as they will learn and hopefully get better, if they do should be an amazing shop.

went to this shop today to check it out and the older guy there was really helpful. didn't try to sell me anything. gave me advice that was consistent with what i seem to get from experienced breeders and gave me their business card and said to ring if i have any questions. great range of birds. the birds seemed to be packed in, but he said on saturdays the shop is packed and most the birds will be sold.
