I will try and get some better photo's of the finch pictured above and post up.
Would have to check with the previous breeder to see if there is any chance that it could be split.
Thanks guys.

Still trying to get hold of another couple of hens to try and pair up with my spare males, but having no luck at moment finding anyone willing to sell.
Not the best time of year I guess, except for pet shops which have a few here and there except they want top dollar??

By Christmas and after you will probably have your choice of colour and they wont be nearly so expensive and you might find a breeder advertising in the local newspaper.

Picked up another group buy of Gouldian's this morning from a guy getting out of finches and into larger parrots.
Now have the following in addition to birds listed earlier,
WB RH YB Cock x2
WB RH YB Hen x1
PB BH GB Cock x1
PB RH GB Cock x1
PB BH GB Hen x1
WB RH G/YB Hen x1
Uncoloured x6
Also got all of his seeds, around 30kg's of 3 different ones & 3kg's of grit as part of the deal.
Along with all that, ended up taking 3 button quails, 2 female silvers & 1 normal male and 11 nesting boxes with 7 eggs just layed.
Pretty happy with the purchase as will have our new aviary finished off in next week or so, so will have plenty of room for them all, no problems.
As an added bonus, scored all his medicines including worming liquids, anti biotics & vitamins......

You certainly have enough birds to fill 2 avairys now. And to decide what colours you want to breed and put them in those combinations in different avairys. Good luck. Now you need a third avairy.

Yeah checked all the used by dates, most expire mid to end of 2011 so will do for this year mostly.
Started keeping our eggshells now, microwave then crushing them up for the birds also.

I go into bakers delight once a week and collect egg shells from there. they are more than happy to hold onto them for you.
most bakers would probably do the same if asked

Good idea on egg sheels from Bakers Delights, thanks.
After my new aviary (4.5m x 3.4m) is fully up and running I would love to mix in a couple of different breeds, but not 100% sure on what would be suitable to put in with the Gouldians without interfering with them or their breeding at all. Love the Diamonds & Cubans or am I best just to leave the Gouldian's to themselves for now.....?
