Seems it's only the aratinga's. Pyrahura's, Queens, Nandays are out of the question.
If it's a lively, cheeky, playful parrot your after that's not too loud, have a think about a caique. They are awesome birds. I could watch them play for hours.

Caiques are a nice comical little bird too , still cant go past the humble Rainbow Lorrikeet for character , they are quite the little clown and bonus these days those god awful squirts can be eliminated thanks to Vetafarm.

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

I wouldn’t recommend Vetafarm Nectar Pellets for a Lorikeet – Any serious breeder wouldn’t use them!! Definitely wouldn't feed them to a pet birdjusdeb wrote:Caiques are a nice comical little bird too , still cant go past the humble Rainbow Lorrikeet for character , they are quite the little clown and bonus these days those god awful squirts can be eliminated thanks to Vetafarm.

Ive thought about the Caiques... there seems to be a LOT more conure species available nowadays and not included on the list- do I assume they are allowed or government has just been too lazy to update the list...?

I don't know Kinberley it sounds like the subjects not completely closed. Alhough they all come in as A3 (prohibited) it's because of a post-scripted asterix -perhaps lobbying the right people might result in a reversal in time .
o A4 - Entry subject to permits and/or conditions.
Certain animals that would otherwise be covered by item 4 of the declaration above have been assessed and specifically declared as prohibited. These are marked * in the list.

White bellied caiques and black headed caiques have the same birdinalities (personalties). The differance is you'll pay between $1500 and $2500 for a BHC and about $4000 to $5000 for a WBC. A lot less in the near future.
If you want a Blue Mutation Black headed caique, get the cheque book out and make sure you have $20k plus in the account as that's what the auction is upto and counting.

Jayburd,
The price of Linnies is falling. saw a cobalt cock for $500 recently, and even then they weren't moving.
Just hold on and they'll be in your price range...you'll just have to build another aviary!!! ;)
