I buy a tonne of seed twice a year as soon as it arrives it is taken from the bags and mixed.
I do not have any Weevil or infestation problems as my seed merchant sells me good seed(I sprout test each shipment though)
What is possibly one reason for no problems is what I store it in.
My seed is stored in old household chest deep freeze cabinets. Each hold around 350kg.
What makes them so good,
They are insulated so outside temp.does not effect the seed.
Provided the door seal is in good condition humidity is not a factor.
With such a good lid, insects, mice or other nasties just can't get at the seed
And finally it is easy to access and I know how much seed I have at a quick glance.
The lids are also handy as work benches.
There is no way I could keep mice out of the bags if left alone in particular living in a rural community.
