Just thinking of what you could do but it depends on the volume of seed you're talking about. It it's just a few litres of seed then placing it in a plastic bag in the freezer for a week will fix them up (don't open the bag until it warms to room temperature of water condensing on the seed may cause it to go moldy). If it's a 50 kg bag then you could place it in a large plastic bag and seal it for a month, the oxygen level will soon go down below the level needed by the weevils and they will die. You could even speed up the process with an initial purge of carbondioxide or nitrogen gas. If you aren't worried about preserving seed viability then heat treatment would also work.

I use Quick Phos fumigation tablets. I buy my seed twice a year, & store it in plastic 44 gallon drums, 1 tablet in the bottom of the bin & about 120 - 150 kg of seed. Take out seed 1 day prior to use & all traces will dissapate. Have been doing this for about 15 years, & never had any problems with weevils, or coddling moth ect, & no trouble with any toxicity. I do it with all seed, & feed everything from finches through to Major Mitchells, even the Green Cheek Conures when they were still worth around $4000.
