To me this chick looks like an Australin Blue. It will molt into a white bird with blue fowling on its back. Its hard to see all the nodules clearly but they appear all white to me. If this is the case then both parents will be split for both Australian yellow and blue. I have a chick showing the same colouring in my nest of Australian yellow/blues and it has white feathering at this stage, but will wait and see what happens when it fledges. I will post some photos when it fledges

Forgot about this old post, it's colouring up now into a white breasted blue back, still not sure of the head colour yet I'll have to take some pictures and update this post.

Comon Simba, you had all weekend to take a snap shot and post.
So your saying its moulted out to be a WB Blue with no other hints of anything else> strange with the white outer nodules..
I would still be happy with that![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.png)

The Blue has not changed much, but you can see the white breast and blue coming through. It's brother (bird in my avitar) has fully coloured up.mackstaa wrote:Comon Simba, you had all weekend to take a snap shot and post.

This is the same blue now. The chick with the white nodules is not the same bird, this was a Aust Blue but it never made it to fledging.

Yes the one with the white nodules was the one I thought you said changed into a blue backed WB.
Thanks for posting the pics, he will be a beauty when we eventually get some decent warm weather to let them colour![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.png)

Ive only ever had the two blue babies but I found them to be slow in everything. Learning to fly effectively, both seemed to be the last one in the clutch to keep begging for food, and the one I have on the perch is slowest to show any colour at all when compared to siblings.
Another thing I noticed is all the babies from the split blue parents, they all get a few black feathers under the chin first, giving them a little bow tie look.
