Council here has a 10 square metre limit for aviaries per house. So most people dont apply for permission and hope for the best.

Oh how things have changed.
When I moved her in the 80's I went to our Council to get a permit to build my aviary, armed with a full set of drawing and specification in triplet
which I thought would be required.The building department manager simply asked is it habitable for humans.
When I told him no it was for birds and how big it was going to be he just said not interested go ahead.
I guess you could think one aviary is fine but this structure covered 550 sq m, what would some councils say today.

Boy, talk about "big brother!" It seems as though, as has been mentioned, one is better off having a series of single aviaries, rather than multiple. 10sp.mtr., about 15'X6'... not a bad size. But then the Council might charge me rain catchment fees??? If they look like doing this for farmers, what's next? We look like having another "Tax.".... Life's little enjoyments.
