To me its head and neck look like a cock.Chest area hen.abdomen either well marked hen or a poorer cock bird.If it doesnt crow or dance I would say hen.To be sure $15 DNA could be worth it for a good gouldian breeding program.Or wait and see.

looks like a hen to me too. used to have a good line like this. was constantly asked if i was sure they were hens, not just young males. mind you, i was like 12 at the time so can understand why people might doubt me

i agree jay!! i got into finches when i was only 8 and have been learning ever sincec then, still researching things WAY more than needed! but younger people do get a bit of a hard time because "we/they havent been into it as long". can only continue to prove them wrong with success stories!!
