Best mouse trap that I have used. Birds cant get in, bait with peanut butter, available from Bunnings , about $10.

Will try peanut butter next! Do you find the snap mechanism to be pretty touchy??

Very touchy, but that is good, the victim quite often gets caught by only a foot or leg. What have you been using for bait?

The big cheese bait stuff! Looks a bit like molasses...
And (the usual) cheese... lol

Pumpkin seeds work well too. Peanut better is good, but you need a sensitive trap, as some can lick it off without triggering the trap!!

I have simislar but called bait stations , the mice can get in nibble the bait and then go away to die ....Plenty of bait nibbled and no problems with the birds eating them except of course the not so smart baby quail , but taking them out of aviary fixes that ( the quail that is )

Can't comment on Bobwhites Deb., but I have seen some King cocks with chicks seeing them off.

Yeah my Kings were tossing around a young mouse not long ago , unsure if they killed it or the poison got it first .
Theres a fella selling Bob Whites nearby reckons they keep the mice rats numbers down ...want to be sure before I bring any home .
Seems to be the cooler weather has the meeces slowing down , going to wash all the traps , baits etc and reset just in case the odd few are still sneaking in at night .

My dad mixes peanut butter with rat sack for the traps , so if the bugger dont get caught , he will in the end.. pete
