Think the rain is bringing out the mice.

Yesterday i was in the feed room and found 2 mice in a bucket,there was no sign of them before.
Dad checked the baits around the avairys and backyard and they had been eating them,we went out and got some more baits and 2 traps.

It happens every year Harv, all around Australia. I haven't seen any in my aviaries or house in months, but just in the last 2 weeks we have seen 5 poisoned, and caught another 5 in traps (traps inside, poisons outside). As long as you're vigilant in keeping aviary floors as clean as you can you should be fine

I was mowing on the ride-on this arvo with my 5yo boy on my lap & ran over a mouse & was ever so proud of myself for about half a second until my little man burst into tears - another snag in the making.

I did that in my car, except it was a rabbit and my girlfriend was in passenger seat... We both laughed though! I did feel a little guilty... For about 2 seconds. Totally accidental, it ran under my wheel seconds after I jokingly said I should try and hit it...
I'm an animal lover through and through, but vermin and introduced species do so much more damage than most people realise, so unfortunately (for them) I feel no guilt.

When I first moved to the country I would relocate mice now I give them free swimming lessons .....

Have had a few lately, usually hit em with a thong and the best part is feed them to the resident magpies. Think that goes full circle hey

Havent had them in the aviary yet thank god. HOPEFULLY I won't, mouse proof wire all round etc. but they're clever bastards.
