Great explanation and summary by Myzo.

I was speaking to a canary breeder from Wollongong this morning and he said that of the 90 chicks he had bred, he lost 75 on friday with the heat. He also lost the majority of his stock birds. He reckons that it was 48C and said that his major problem is that the front of his birdroom is all glass, and even spraying with water didn't have any effect.

A perfect summary. Thanks Myzomela. What about an article for the forum newsletter (bugger finch news!).

You may return to the green now !!!!! :)

G'day Tom,you will probably find that the majority of members on this forum are a member of the QLD finch society,it wouldn't hurt to have an article on here as well as in Finch News for the non forum members, after all we are all in the hobby of breeding finches and if Myzo's free information is going to help us all in this very worrying time of heat stress,i can't see any reason why an article shouldn't be also in any journal, imo Craig
