why wont my zebra finches breed

If you can seperate the hens from the cocks for a while out of sight from each other and then put them back in Spring together.
Breeding Show Zebra Finches, Blue Gouldians, Pied Orange Breast.

So that the males have a drive to breed presently not there. By removing all hens from sight & sound, they can only see/hear males, no breeding obviously. thenin theory, after a period of time you re introduce the hens, they should have built up a bit of breeding drive.

I agree JB, the breeder I got most of my finches from always kept the males and females separated unless he wanted them to breed. When I bought my first pair from him he put them in my carry cage and the male immediately started singing to the hen and even tried to mount her! If you can't keep them separated then maybe you could consider selling one sex - I think from memory you had 2 pairs and a spare, you could sell the 2 and keep the 3 that are the same sex. Then buy some new ones in a couple of months. Just an idea.. any other thoughts on this?
