Yes I managed to get him to the vet and he was able to let him live, the brake was to bad to recover but he said the bird would go fine with just one leg, so off with the leg. Now he is home and flying perfectly fine and eating seed off the floor, and perching very well already. I will have to get some photos to show you guys as I'm very happy that I didn't get him putt down.

A happy ending and I'm glad you didn't have to have him put down .
You must understand though the reaction you got from some of us , as bird lovers the thought of that bird in pain overnight was too much to bare .
Now you can concentrate on preventing it from happening again . Lets hope it doesn't .

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

I'm still not completely out of trouble yet, I still have tonight in which he must survive, I hope he does because he survived last night with all the trauma of the broken leg and the threatening owls. Right now he is nice and warm so fingers crossed, if he survives tonight, he'll survive any other night as his condition improves.

Guess what guys, a week on from this little guys accident and he is going like the wind, I really didn't think he would survive considering the injuries and stress laid upon him but he has now provailed against the odds and should go on to be a very good little gouldian finch. Maybe not for breeding but maybe as a pet, I'm not sure.
