I currently have OB,s Cordons and Ruddies nesting at the moment. They have been sitting for over 3 weeks now and i have refrained from any nest inspections just to leave them in peace. I was hoping to hear the young making that sound when the parents feed them but have heard nothing.I realise with ruddies that they can be quiet prior to leaving the nest as i have had young suddenly fledge not even aware that they existed. However i have never bred OB's or cordons before so if anyone can tell me if it is common to not hear anything from the nest prior to hatching would be great.

Cheers

I have found sometimes that they are hard to hear especially when I have alot of canaries and other birds constantly whistling or chearping. I think do believe that waxbill young are more quieter than most grass finches.

I have had Orange breasted fledglings appear without any prior sounds of young feeding. So could still all be good.
