Tri coloured parrot finch

Hi everyone tells me that tri parrot finches dont build roosting nest. Mine have had a nest now for about a month now, no signs or noises from young. They are in a cabinet about 1 & 1/2m by 600 by 600 . Anyone have any idea what might be going on.

I agree that they don't usually construct or use roosting nests it may be their housing and are using the nest as a form of privacy? being a active bird I would be watching their weight closely as obesity causing infertility is a problem with parrot finches which could maybe account for the nest and no eggs.

And they'll sit on dud eggs for an eternity before they give up. Have you checked for eggs? Maybe chuck them out.

My tri colours in a cabinet built s nest for 2 months before she finally put some eggs in it. They would sometimes roost in it as well.
