Thought Id check the empty aviary for mice whilst letting the dogs out late last night and found the seed hopper and side wall covered in slugs .
The aviary next door (occupied ) is the same .

Probably due to the wet weather but how do I get rid of them ? Can they harm the birds ? Thanks

Salt on the slugs will kill the ones you already have, if you put a line of salt around the aviary that would also stop any more getting in.

That I dont know, maybe to be safe you could scrape off those already in there, then salt them to make sure they dont return and salt around the affected aviaries to stop any more deciding that aviary is a perfect overnight stop.

White Vinegar is an effective deterrent too. Just spray it around where they get in/congregate.
