Some of my Yellows have moulted with light blue rings around head, why is this happening, here is a not so good photo, battery died and forgot to recharge the spare. Will try to get more.

they don't much care to have their photos taken, other except to feed and clean, I don't bother them. None of my original SF or DF have blue. Am wondering?

That's just how a single-factor WB yellow-back is supposed to look. Nothing unusual.

@Tiaris, thanks, I have never seen them with the blue, that is beautiful, here is another. So does this mean, yellows, don't breed true to their color?

If you mean visually, they do and they dont. :?

A Single Factor Yellow Back with a white chest will appear yellow and have the blue ring (as your bird does) The blue ring is the way you can tell on a yellow cock is he is SFYB, a Double Factor Yellow Back (DFYB) wont have the blue neck ring at all.
The chest colour has an effect on the colour of the back of the bird too.
A Single Factor Yellow back with a purple chest will appear green, not as green as the normal, but not yellow like your bird, but it would still be a SFYB, these birds are sometimes referred to as dilutes, pastel greens, and various other terms based on the viewers observation of the colour. I prefer to use the terms SF and DF that way everyone should have a clear understanding of what the bird is.
Hens will always be yellow.
If you get one of the Gouldian Genetic Forecasters you will be able to check out all the different combinations.
This is the one I use the most, it can be used offline, I think you need to get a key from the creator, but that is done very quickly.

Thank you for the links, I have viewed and added them to my favorites. Robert Marshall, DVM, book went into genetics lightly. However, are these one hundred percent absolute? Or can you still get throw backs?
